Founder of Rockefeller Center " John D. Rockefeller" |
Rockefeller Family, as most of you have heard about it
already, is one of the most powerful and rich families
in American History. They even provided a scholarship
for two important politicians of Turkey,
Bülent Ecevit, and Deniz Baykal.
The Rockefeller
Center is commissioned by Rockefeller
Family. It is a huge complex and consists
of 19 commercial buildings and located in between 48th and 51st streets. Briefly,
it is better to memorize if you can keep this address in your mind as “it is
between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue.” It was also declared as a National Historic
Landmark in 1987.
You will probably wonder about very
famous Christmas Tree in front of the Rockefeller
Center during Christmas period. Unfortunately,
I could not see it since I was out of that time.
Moreover, there is an ice skating area in front of the Rockefeller Center and NBC studios take place inside of the building.

I strictly recommend you to visit Rockefeller Center because of its wonderful view. I visited Empire State and I went up to
the 86th floor last year. It was really nice, but Rockefeller Center has a more wide
view. You won’t regret when you see the
square view of Central Park from the top
of Rockefeller Center.

The ticket price is 34$ for adults and this ticket offers you to see three
different floors 67th, 69th, and 70th. All three decks have outdoor viewing areas
and the uppermost deck is completely open air. The uppermost deck height is
approximately 850 feet(259m) from the ground.
The views include some of the city’s most
prominent landmarks from the Chrysler Building to the Brooklyn Bridge and from
Central Park to the Hudson and East
Rivers. Also, If you trust on your eyes, you
can see The Statue of Liberty from the top.

Unless you are visiting the Rockefeller Center during the holidays, you won’t need to worry about huge crowds. But it is better to consider going in the early evening to catch the sunset view. The decks are close at midnight with the last elevator up at 11.15 p.m.
And when the most important question
is asked; “ROCKEFELLER or EMPIRE STATE BUILDING?”
I would say; “Of course take me to
Rockefeller!”
